The adopted son of former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky has been arrested for sexually assaulting a child, adding another black mark to the Sandusky name.
41-year-old Jeffery Sandusky was arraigned on charges Monday afternoon, wrapping up an investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police that began in November 2016, when a child claimed to have received messages from Sandusky that requested nude photos.
The child in question was the offspring of Sandusky’s former girlfriend, who Sandusky lived with at the time. The authorities were notified after the child’s biological father became aware of the messages. Upon learning of the alleged abuse, Sandusky was kicked out of the home.
Criminal complaints note that a second child was also abused in 2013.
According to WTAJ, Sandusky is prohibited to contact minors and had his bail set at $200,000 Monday afternoon.
