UPDATE: An ‘all clear’ has been given and there was no evidence, other than initial calls, that a shooting even took place at the Ben Taub Hospital in Houston.

The Houston Chronicle reported, and we at LEO Affiars covered, that the shooting suspect had barricaded himself on the third floor. That report turned out to be false.

Earlier:
Police in Houston are responding to reports of shots fired at Ben Taub hospital, a Level I trauma center.

An active shooter has barricaded himself on the third floor, as source told the Houston Chronicle.

The calls started coming in around 2:00 p.m. local time, according to Houston police.

Several patrol units as well as members of the SWAT team are on scene at the hospital.

Doctors and other medical personnel are hiding in offices inside the building and several patients still in their hospital beds are being evacuated.
