A Georgia corrections officer is in stable condition after her teenage stepdaughter shot her in the head during a domestic dispute Thursday afternoon.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Spalding County deputies found Amanda Moore with a single gunshot wound. She was then airlifted to the Atlanta Medical Center.
Deputies have arrested her 16-year-old stepdaughter.
Sheriff Darrell Dix confirmed the two had gotten into a fight. He also said Officer Moore had been with the sheriff’s office for a little more than a year.
Moore’s father also works in the sheriff’s office.
