The Fort Lauderdale Police Department headquarters was evacuated Monday morning after receiving yellow powder in the mail.
FLPD employs more than 500 sworn officers in a city of about 175,000 residents.
A hazmat team has been called to the building to determine evaluate the powder, according to Local 10.
The source of the powder is not yet known.
