A jury has found former Palm Beach Gardens police officer Nouman Raja guilty in the 2015 shooting death of Corey Jones.
According to WPTV, Raja was in plain clothes when he drove an unmarked van up to Jones’ SUV, which was broken down and on the side of a highway off ramp, to offer assistance.

Prosecutors alleged that Raja never identified himself as a cop and acted so aggressively it made Jones think he was about to be carjacked.
Raja’s defense team has argued that he shot and killed Jones in self-defense.
Jones did have a gun on him but had a legal conceal and carry permit.
Raja will be sentenced within the next 45 days.
