A Utah high school remains on “soft” lockdown after multiple stabbings were reported there earlier this morning. The stabbings occurred at Mountain View High school in Orem just before 8am, local media reports.
There’s been heavy police presence in the parking lot of Mountain View all morning.
A Utah County Sheriff’s deputy was posted outside the school and many emergency vehicles were on scene also. The local ABC station also reported seeing an ambulance leaving the scene possibly with some of the victims inside.
ABC4 posted raw video as the situation was unfolding this morning, and as students began spilling out of the building trying to get news on their cell phones.

They told the station that there were possibly up to 5 students stabbed. Some of the students who were standing outside after the incident told ABC4 that the stabbings happened inside the boy’s locker room.
School officials reportedly came on the PA system to announce that there was no longer an ‘imminent threat’ and that the situation was under control. A 16-year-old male was reportedly taken into custody.
