Tragedy struck and brought an end to a Mardi Gras Day parade in coastal Alabama after a car drove into a crowd of people.
Video footage from Gulf Shores shows multiple ambulances on the scene after a vehicle slammed into eight teenagers that were preparing for the parade.
“A teenage band has just started to march down the parade route when they were struck from behind. The vehicle was a part of the parade,” says Grant Brown, a spokesperson for the city of Gulf Shores, Alabama.
According to News5, the injuries are unknown at this time and roads surrounding the scene have been closed off.
The Gulf Shores Parade has been cancelled, with the entire parade route shut down until further notice.
