Officials with the US Customs and Border Protection say they have made their biggest fentanyl bust to date, intercepting around 254 pounds of synthetic opioid in Arizona.
Nogales CBP Port Director Michael Humphries told KGUN9 that the fentanyl was seized on Saturday from a tractor trailer truck carrying produce from Mexico.
Stopped for an inspection at the border crossing, the truck also contained 2.2 pounds of fentanyl pills and a supply of methamphetamine.
The driver, a Mexican, was immediately taken into custody.
