
Update: At least 3 people have been shot, two fatally, at Texas A&M Univeristy-Commerce on Monday.
The campus is currently under a shelter-in-place order with officers being placed all around the campus. It is not clear if the shooting suspect is in custody or not yet.
According to local reports, the shooting took place at a residence hall for first-year students.
In addition to the shelter-in-place order, the campus is in a total “lock-out,” where no one will be allowed to leave or enter.,
Commerce ISD also said all of its facilities were in a “lock-out” until further notice due to the incident as well, meaning no one will be allowed to enter or leave its facilities.
There have been 2 confirmed deaths. The third victim has been taken to the hospital for treatment. UPD has stationed officers throughout campus, including all key gathering points, for the safety of the campus community.
