Update:
The incident is currently confined to inside of the bank and journalists are being asked not to photograph officers as it may jeopardize the police rescue effort.
While there is a school across the street, First Coast reports that no schools are currently on lockdown and police are suing the K-5 school as a casualty collection point.
Authorities report that up to 11 hostages have since been released and that the suspect has surrendered to police.

A hostage situation with an armed gunman is unfolding in Jacksonville, Florida, where one person is confirmed to be shot at the Community First Credit Union.
Police on scene told First Coast News reporters to stay back from the bank area, telling one reporter that if she stepped any closer, she would “be in the line of fire.”
Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officials went on to tell journalists that there is an active shooter at the bank who is currently taking hostages. SWAT units have been dispatched to the scene, but are currently in a holding pattern until negotiations can be attempted.
