A shooting took place at an Arkansas Walmart, sending Forrest City Police scrambling to the scene.
The FCPD Chief reported that two officers were shot during the response to the shooting, with one being transported out of state to a Tennessee-based hospital for four gunshot wounds. The second officer was only shot twice, and has been treated locally.
According to ABC7, one witness claimed around 12 shots were fired around 10:30 AM near the back of the store.
St. Francis County Sheriff Bobby May would later report that officers at the store confronted a man who turned around shot them. The shooter was taken down by law enforcement and succumbed to his wounds on the scene. The incident is under investigation.
