A police department in Texas is releasing body camera footage of an officer-Involved shooting, which resulted in the suspect being paralyzed.
Paris Police Department employee Curtis Garrett said the incident, which took place roughly one year ago, occurred after a single-vehicle accident was reported, prompting officers to respond.
Officers located the owner/driver of the vehicle at his residence and conducted a welfare check on him,” Garrett said.
The man, identified as Colton “Coco” Carico, came out of his home and approached officers with a firearm, claiming he was going to “Blow [his] head off.”
Officer Derek Bristow and other PPD officers attempted to order Carico to surrender his weapon, but Carico ignored orders and turned to walk back into the home.
It was at this point that Carico was fired upon by Bristow, who hit the suicidal man in the back.
According to eExtra, Carico was paralyzed in the incident.
