The Raleigh Police Department has released body cam and surveillance video that shows the lead up to a fatal officer-involved shooting in early May.
According to WTVD, 30 rounds were fired at Reuel Rodriguez-Nunez on May 7th after he threw Molotov cocktails and feces at police vehicles.
On May 7th, an officer reported a man was in the police parking lot and had set several vehicles on fire. He then called for backup before confronting him. Nunez refused to listen to commands and kept throwing items at the vehicles.
Police then opened fire as they considered him a threat.
He was rushed to the hospital but eventually died.
Nunez’s brother says he did not intend to harm anyone and committed the actions in protest of what he saw happening in the jail.
All four officers are still on administrative leave.
