A Las Vegas Police officer was forced to shoot a robbery suspect after the man went for his gun hidden in his waist.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, officers were responding to an armed robbery call at a nearby auto parts store.
They found the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Steven Aguirre, a couple of minutes away from the scene.
Aguirre follows the officer’s commands, but as he goes down onto his knees, he reaches for a gun hidden in his waist.
Immediately the officer fires and shoots Aguirre in the leg.
Aguirre was injured and was treated at a local hospital. He’s now in the Clark County Detention Center.
