Flagstaff police have just released body cam video of an officer-involved shooting that happened on Monday.
In the video, you can see the officer try to take down the suspect, identified as Nick Rubey, after learning he had a warrant out for his arrest.
After the takedown was unsuccessful, the officer then used pepper spray, which failed to subdue Rubey as well.
Rubey then pulled out what the officer originally thought was a knife, and instead used his own can of pepper spray on the officer.
The officer, in reaction to the pepper spray, shot Rubey.
According to Fox 10, Rubey and the officer were transported to the hospital.
The officer has been placed on administrative leave per department policy.
