The tense moments concerning an April use of force incident in Jacksonville, Florida, has been released to the public.

Body camera footage documents the moments when Leah Baker attacked JPD Officer E. Mechling, who was attempting to answer an April 11 call concerning a dispute in Northwest Jacksonville.

The body camera footage, which was recently obtained by a Jacksonville local news station,  shows just how dangerous close encounters can be, particularly when the assailant is armed with a knife.

Within seconds of answering the door, Baker stabbed the officer,  who then backed up and informed dispatch that she had been “f***ing stabbed.”

Drawing her sidearm, the officer fired two shots, demanding Baker drop the knife.

Baker refused, attempting to pick the knife up after releasing it.

Soon, SGT JC Nobles arrived on scene, backing Mechling up as Baker picked the knife up and approached the female officer.

With little space in even less time to react as Baker charged Mechling, the sergeant opened fire, striking Baker.

Eventually, Mechling was treated for her wounds.

“I’m sorry,” she said. “I’m sorry, I’m shaking.”

Eventually, a K9 arrived on scene and was attacked by Baker.

“Stop hitting my dog,” the handler said.

The K9, having had quite enough of this nonsense, dragged Baker into the street.

According to News4Jax, Baker was cuffed and taken to the hospital, where she later died.
