The Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department has released body camera footage surrounding the fatal shooting of an armed man.
DC Metro Police were responding to a call involving a domestic disturbance on Friday, which took place at an apartment building.
Upon arrival, a woman answered the front door, urging the officers to evict 36-year-old Terrance Maurice Parker.
“Get this b**** out my house,” she said.
Parker, who was sitting on a bed in one of the apartment rooms, was asked multiple times by the officers to come into the hallway.
Suddenly, Parker pulled out a handgun from behind his back, prompting officers to inquire what his intentions were.
“What do you got there?” one officer asked.
Parker then pointed the pistol at officers and the lawmen opened fire, mortally wounding Parker.
According to WUSA9, police attempted to provide aid to Parker, but he later died at the hospital.
The video is being reviewed by the US District Attorney’s Office for DC.
The officer’s name has not been released and all DC Metro officers involved are on administrative leave.
