Body and dash cam video of a 2017 officer-involved shooting outside an Arby’s has finally been released.
In the video, a naked and armed Randy Engstrom stole a car, led police and deputies on a 25-mile chase, and only ended after officers shot and killed him as he was reaching for his gun.
During the chase, a naked Engstrom flashed a gun through the sunroof, which caused the officers to back off.
Eventually, the officers deployed stop sticks to try to slow down the vehicle.
Engstrom did drive over those stop sticks, and a short time later lost a tire that had gone flat.
According to Fox 6, family members told investigators that Engstrom had been experiencing bipolar thoughts and dreams about shooting his wife. He had also just lost his job.
The district attorney did rule the officer’s shooting was justified.
