While on duty, Davie police officer James Krey was arrested by Coral Springs police and charged with extortion after he threatened to expose nude pictures of his ex-girlfriend and fellow officer, if she didn’t resign.
As reported by Local 10, the 10-year Davie Police Department veteran sent text messages to his ex-girlfriend threatening that if she did not quit, he would share nude pictures of her to others in the department. The officer had recently moved out of Krey’s apartment and currently resides in Coral Springs.
“The only threat was to tarnish her reputation at the Davie Police Department,” Coral Springs police spokesman Joe McHugh told Local 10 News.
Krey’s bail is set at $75,000 and his motives are still unknown.
