An animal control officer with the Elgin police department has plead guilty to stealing $6,000 from the department’s Explorer program.
James Rog admitted to stealing the money from the Explorer Post that he oversaw to fund his lottery addiction, according to ABC 7.
As part of his guilty plea, Rog agreed to get a gambling addiction evaluation, was conditionally discharged, and paid back the money he stole to the city of Elgin.
