After nearly 10 years since it left the airwaves, Fox has decided to bring back ‘America’s Most Wanted.”
The show, which as originally hosted by John Walsh for 25 seasons, ended up with the arrests of more than 1,100 criminals. ‘America’s Most Wanted’ started in 1988 and ran until 2013.
According to Variety, Elizabeth Vargas will be the new host. She was a former ABC News anchor and reporter.
Fox promises the show will remain true to its roots, but have some upgrades, “such as augmented reality and 3-D life-size avatars that will illustrate what suspects might look like now, pinpoint map-tracking that will take the audience hot-on-the-trail of suspects, and social media.”
The show will also feature former FBI, Secret Service, and U.S. Marshall’s Office experts to help viewers pick up on where the wanted men and women may be.
The show is set to return in March.
