An Californian octogenarian ended a tense standoff between police and an agitated suspect- by tossing the suspect off the roof of his home.

83-year-old Wilford Burgess reportedly took to his roof to repel the suspect, who had been jumping on La Puente rooftops in a tense, hours-long standoff with police.

Industry Sheriff’s Captain Tim Murakami thanked Burgess, saying “he did what we couldn’t.”

For Burgess, he was just “tired of [the suspect’s] games.”

“You come to my house, you don’t have to worry about him because I’ll be all over it ’cause I’m going to load up,” he said.

According to ABC13, Burgess got a ladder and informed the deputies of his plans.

“I said…’I’m going up on the roof, that sucker’s coming off,'” he explained.

The entire incident was caught on camera and the suspect was immediately seized by police and sent to the hospital upon landing.

When asked how he stays so fit, Burgess says it is never too late to be in shape.

“I tell everybody, ‘Just because you’re old, that don’t mean you got to sit down. As long as you’re able to move, move,'” he said.
