A Missouri man was involved in a shooting after his rifle was stolen from him, resulting in several people being wounded.
The incident, which took place in northern St. Louis, after a man open-carrying a cased rifle entered the Wellston food market.
While the man posed no threat to anyone while going about his business, he was robbed of his rifle.
Upon being relieved of his weapon by his assailant, the man went to his vehicle and retrieved his handgun, which was in turn used to engage the criminal.
During the shootout, two women were inadvertently hit, as well as the assailant.
A third man is believed to have been involved as well, but fled the scene after shooting the robber.
The victim, the man who was robbed, also fled the scene.
The man who took the rifle was taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to KSDK.
The North County Police Cooperative is investigating the incident.
